My journey into metabolic health began with my own struggles.
Years ago, I was overweight, carrying excess fat around my waist and not feeling my best. Like many doctors, I followed the advice I was trained to give — count calories, avoid fat, exercise more. Instead of improving, I ended up hungry, frustrated and demoralised. During my training as a family physician, I realised that if I kept going down that road, I would one day become a patient myself, unable to manage my own health.
That realisation pushed me to re-examine everything I had been taught about weight and health. In my search for answers, I discovered the low carbohydrate–ketogenic way of eating. For the first time, I had more energy, slept better, enjoyed my food and lost weight naturally.
This personal experience gave me the courage to question outdated ideas, unlearn what wasn’t working and embrace new evidence. Over time, I connected with like-minded physicians, deepened my understanding and saw how dietary and lifestyle interventions can truly transform lives.
Today, I bring that lived experience into every consultation. I know what it feels like to struggle and how powerful it is to reclaim your health. My mission is simple —to empower people with the tools, confidence and evidence-based strategies they need to take back control of their health and thrive.
