Frequently Asked Questions

Why don’t you bulk bill?

I choose not to bulk bill because the current Medicare rebate does not reflect the time, expertise, and comprehensive care required for complex metabolic health consultations. This allows me to provide the highest standard of care without compromise.

Can I still claim a Medicare rebate?

Yes. If you have a valid Medicare card, you will receive a rebate after your consultation. With Medicare EasyClaim, this rebate is usually deposited back into your bank account within minutes.

Do you see children or teenagers?

No. My practice is focused on adults aged 16 years and over.

What conditions do you help with?

My focus is on conditions linked to metabolic health, heart health, and safe medication use. I help people with:
• Type 2 Diabetes (reversing or improving control).
• Heart health and Cholesterol issues — addressing cholesterol misinformation with updated, evidence-based management.
• De-prescribing (safely reducing or stopping unnecessary medications).
• Weight management and obesity.
• Mental health support through nutrition and lifestyle strategies.
• Digestive and liver health (IBS, gut issues, and fatty liver disease).
• Low-carbohydrate approaches (e.g., ketogenic or carnivore diets).
• Using ketogenic diets as an adjunct in epilepsy management.

What will happen when I see you?

During your consultation, I will take a detailed history of your health, lifestyle, and goals. We will review your medical history, blood tests, and current medications (if any). Together, we will design a personalised plan focusing on nutrition, lifestyle, and metabolic health strategies. Implementing these changes often requires 2–3 visits before your plan is fully in place.

How long are the consultations?

• Initial consultations are longer (usually 30–40 minutes) to allow a detailed assessment and planning.
• Review consultations are shorter (usually 20–30 minutes) and focus on progress, adjustments, and support.

How often will I need follow-up?

Follow-up appointments are usually every 4–6 weeks, depending on how complex your health needs are and how much progress we need to review.

Do I need a referral to see you?

No, a referral is not required. You can book directly.

Do you work with my GP or specialist?

Yes. I am happy to collaborate with your GP or specialist, provided they are open to communication and shared care.

How can I pay?

Payment can be made by Cash, EFTPOS, or Credit Card at the time of your consultation.
